The Electronic Transaction Association publishes a monthly magazine called Transaction Trends. Lisa Bowser, owner of L. Bowser Design (and a top-notch creative), contracted me to create spreads and layouts using her Quark syle sheets and information design.

The spread you see above was created in Photoshop using scans of some of my own old, cancelled checks combined with a product image supplied by the electronic check conversion company, Verifone. The "depth-of-field encoding" motif was used throughout the article to highlight pullquotes and call-outs.

The spread for Debit Card Fraud (which was later re-titled) uses an inexpensive stock illustration to maximum impact.
